• 48th Annual Convention & CE Program, July 6-10, 2016

    The National Optometric Association presents... "Contemporary Issues in Optometry" at The Palmer House Hilton Hotel, Chicago IL during July 5-10, 2016. The NOA will offer 14hrs of COPE approved CE, over 30 exhibitors, several networking and non-ce educational events including meals and entertainment for the entire family.

    Our Keynote speaker is Dr. Lenoard Messner, FAAO who is the Vice President for Patient Care Services of the Illinois College of Optometry and serves as the Executive Director of the Illinois Eye Institute. With over 102,000 annual patient visits, the Illinois Eye Institute is the largest provider of eye care in the Chicago metropolitan region and is affiliated with the University of Chicago Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences, the University of Illinois at Chicago Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Advocate Health Systems and Mount Sinai Health Systems.

    Dr. Messner holds the rank of Professor at the Illinois College of Optometry, and has clinical privileges in the areas of vitreoretinal and neuro-ophthalmic disorders. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and serves as the chair of the Neuro-Ophthalmic Disorders Special Interest Group of the American Academy of Optometry. He is the author and co-author of numerous professional articles and textbook chapters on retina-vitreous and neuro-ophthalmic disorders, and a frequent guest lecturer in the United States and abroad. His areas of research include: optic neuritis, multiple sclerosis, diabetic macular edema, idiopathic intracranial hypertension and visual-motor abnormalities with traumatic brain injury.

    How do I obtain course handouts?

    All OD and optometry student course handouts are available online at www.nationaloptometricassociation.com

    Prior to an event, How do I get CE credits?

    To get course credit, ARBO numbers should be entered or scanned at the entrance of all CE courses, prior to the start of each session. Each session that you participate in will have an evaluation sheet to be completed, in order for you to obtain CE credit for the course. Be sure to take the following steps to ensure the proper recording of your CE credits after the conference: Keep a record of your course numbers for the sessions you attended Complete an evaluation for every course you attended Visit www.arbo.org to obtain a copy of your transcript; allow 3-6 weeks for records to reflect course credits earned Reporting CE credits to the designated state board(s) for license renewal and to ARBO is the participant's responsibility. All CE accreditation records will remain on file at the NOA main office for approximately one year.

    What does my registration include?

    A full registration includes tickets to the following events: City tour, Presidents Welcome Reception, Continuing Education, Exhibit Luncheon , Business Meetings, Network Session, Awards Banquet, Prayer Breakfast, and Fun Run* as well as a souvenir bag complete with many goodies! CE ONLY participants will receive continental breakfast and allowed to visit the exhibit hall.

    Will my family and children enjoy the conference?

    All NOA events are family friendly. Visit our website to learn about area attractions during the day.

    What is the Fun Run?

    The Fun Run/Walk is a tribute. All proceeds benefit the National Optometric Student Association (NOSA) scholarship fund. Meet in the hotel lobby at 5:45 am to proceed to the course and begin at 6:00 am.

    Is it too late to invite a guest?

    Guest are always welcomed with at least one Full- Registration. Individual tickets can be purchased onsite. You can register you guest online as well as onsite. Extra single event tickets for your guest may also be purchased online as well as onsite.

    What do I bring to wear?

    Most of our events are designed for business- casual attire. The Award's Banquet is a semi- formal event. The City Tour would require comfortable shoes and don't forget your tennis shoes for the Fun Run!

    What is the Refund Policy?

    Full refunds are granted, if submitted by June 1st . After June 1st, partial refunds are granted until the refund cut off date of June 24th. NO REFUNDS ISSUED after June 24th. ALL refunds will be assessed a $25 processing fee.
