Hoya became the first NOA corporate sponsor to partner with the NOA to establish a scholarship benefiting NOSA students. The Hoya Vision Care Dr. Charles Comer Community Service Scholarship awards $1000 to active NOSA members of African American decent demonstrating excellence in service to the optometric community. This scholarship was named in honor of Dr. Charles Comer, one of NOA's past presidents, meeting planner, and an OD of the year recipient.
NOA presented the 2015 scholarship to Courtney Goode, NOSA student at PCO at Salus University.
Hoya has successfully established multiple scholarships; included are the Hoya Vision Care Wilma Mankiller scholarship at Northeastern State University, Oklahoma's College Of Optometry, for Native Americans, and the Hoya Vision Care Opportunity Fund at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Optometry for Hispanic Americans. Hoya's continued support is much appreciated and helps make NOA's goals and mission successful!
The NOA is pleased to also offer scholarships to NOSA students in partnership with the following corporate sponsors: Alcon, CooperVision, National Vision, The Vision Council, VSP, and Walmart/Sam's Club.
